Natalie, Queen of Scots
The inspirational feature film Paton had the privilege of working on as Set Decorator during the summer of '09
Paton had worked on several short films in the Art Department, but it wasn't until Ren Caldwell, producer, contacted her to work on Natalie that she realized her true potential and enjoyment working as Set Decorator on the set.
"Working in the Art Department has given me such satisfaction. As an actor I go home at the end of the day, proud of my work, but always feeling like I could've done more. In the Art Department, no matter the position, I'm able to create something with my own two hands and see it completed, right then and there, and it makes me so incredibly happy. It uses a part of my creativity that I barely ever get to use when on the other side of the camera. This is definitely something I want keep doing in addition to acting."
As Set Decorator I was responsible for buying, returning, and renting props and set pieces, as well as creating floor plans and using organizational skills to know what props were needed each day, where they were, and what was needed to be dressed or broke down. I also designed and set dressed on location, as well as assisting in building props in the workshop.

We apparently attracted some attention from the local news while looking for extra kids for the epic war scene against the ocean.
